How to promote our blog effectively?

Hi all, i'm newbie in blogging. I still learn and learn how to promote our blog in order to increase our traffic, because more traffic means more chances to get money, hehe..
anyone can help me to explain the tips or tricks to promote our blog effectively?

I think for a blog to be effectively promoted, it starts at the content of your blog & then the layout of your blog.

I mean, yeah, we all are trying to make money from our blogs, but when your blog reads like an advertisement (meaning, it looks like a clutter of ads instead of a blog), then more than likely you will annoy your readers. It's ok to have ads here & there, or paid blogging once in a while. Generally ppl want to read the content, they want to get to know the story of your life or share your thoughts.

Once you've got that part nailed down, then promoting it shouldn't be a problem. Ppl who visit your blog would then always want to come back.

The thing I find is that I visitors but then they vanish again then they might come back for a little while but then go again - I am a regular blogger (And when it's not NaBloPoMo!) I blog kinda every 2 to 3 days. I would try and stick with the every days blogging but I think my OH might then divorce or at least threaten it lol.

Is there anything I can do to try and keep this traffic steady rather than sporadic?

You could attempt to encourage people to subscribe to your blog or you can attempt stimulate your regulars to participate more into your blog? I'm not really sure!
